Son of Benjamin and Rosina Alice Smith; husband of Violet Carmen Charlotte Smith (nee Croft), of 46 Moreland Road, East Brunswick, Victoria.
Younger brother 681 Private Charles Sidney Smith, 37th Battalion AIF was killed in action 4 October 1917. Age 21.
