Gassed

The service records of my great-uncle David (Dai) Williams show he enlisted with the 13th Infantry Battalion at Liverpool, N.S.W., on 21 Dec 1915.

Dai survived the war to be discharged at the rank of Corporal on 13 Oct 1919.

During his service Dai was wounded by mustard gas on 31 Jan 1918. He was promoted to Corporal on 30 Aug 1918.

Dai drew a soldier settler block near Whitton in N.S.W., and lived his later years in Sydney where he worked as a security guard on the wharves.

He died in Sydney on 25 Aug 1968
