Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
William Bernard Ramsey was a carter who lived near Blytheswood Avenue, alongside Warrawee Public School. He was the son of William and Sarah Ramsey, Cardinal Avenue, Pennant Hill, NSW. He was born in England and came to Australia with his parents during 1913.
He spent only four days on the front line when he was killed, age 19, during a German attack at Lagnicourt in April 1917. His sergeant said:
'It was his first time in the trenches. There was no need for him to have gone in front of the post and he set a very fine example.'
