Husband of Mrs Lily Wilson, Elphinstone Street, North Rockhmapton, Queensland
William's parents were Irish, and emigrated to the United State os America when he was about two years of age. His only sibling was a sister who was born in Philadelphia. He had been employed for around five years as a Cigar Maker in Philidelphia, and at the age of 18 years enlsited as a Private in Comany G 12th Regiment U.S.A. for service abroad and served in teh Spanish American War for some eighteen months. After his return he was apprenteiced to the Baldwin Locomotive Works for about three years as an Engineers Apprentice. He first visited Australia in 1904 remaining for a few months - and was then employed as a Steward on a cargo steamer and continued making journeys backwards and forwards to Australia over the next few years. From around 1913 he was employed on various sheep and cattle stations in different capacities, including Conseuel Dows and Darr River Downs.
He was discharged with Premature Senility in Australia 20 October 1918
