Son of Frederick Henry Frith and Christina (nee Broatch) Frith of Peterborough, SA; brother of Blanche Leslie Frith, Frederick William Frith who returned to Australia in 1919  have served with the 8th Field Ambulance, Christine Lilian Frith, Reginald Richmond Frith and Jean Alison Frith

On 13 October 1934 - Ernest married Clarice Merle Hoad in the Waikerie Methodist Chuch, SA

22 August 1919 - commenced return to Australia on board HT Anchises
