Son of George and Elizabeth (Anna) PRIOR, Dunolly, Singleton, New South Wales
Official news has been received that Private Claude Stanley Prior, son of Mr G. Prior, Dunolly, was killed in action in France. Deceased who was aged 28, sailed in October 1915, and after some fighting in Egypt proceeded to France where he had been several months. The flags in town today were at half-mast out of respect to deceased.
Deceased, who was a labourer by occupation, and unmarried, was a fine stamp of manhood, and those who knew him speak of him as being a clean, straight goer, for whom they had the highest opinions. Another brother returned home invalided some months ago, after illness incurred during the Gallipoli campaign.
