OBITUARY
MR. HENRY RYDER
The death occurred at the General Hospital, Launceston, of Mr. Henry, R. Ryder, of 149 Invermay-road, Launceston. He was aged 64. Born at New Norfolk, Mr. Ryder was employed in the boiler workshop of the Tasmanian Government Railways. He served with the 26th Baitalion A.l.F., as a machine gunner in the 1st War. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at Carr Villa. The chief mourners were — Mrs. Ryder (widow), Messrs, Fred . and H. A. Ryder (brothers), Mrs. H. A. Ryder (sister in-law), Mr. George Ryder, of George Town (nephew), Mervyn, Harold, and Kenneth Lewis (step-sons). Rev. F. H. Lansdell, of St. George's Church, Invermay, conducted a service at the graveside. Major R. E. Smith read the Diggers' service. The pall-bearers were — Messrs. H. Harding. T. G. Knowles, J. Tumilty, Major R. E. Smith (26th Battalion). Mr. T. Laingmaid represented the Tasmanian Government ex-servicemen. Mr. H. Fyle, stationmaster, Western Junction: Mr. H. Martin, engine drivers; Mr. F. Colbeck, boilermakers. Floral tributes were received from the Boilermakers' Society, Launceston branch. Tasmanian Government Ex-Servicemen's Association, Boilermakers' shop staff.
