George Coombe 3294
Please refer to Benjamin Coombe 305 for the full story. Benjamin George Coombe first enlisted as Benjamin Coombe and fought at Gallipoli at the first landing of ANZAC troops on the 25th April 1915. Benjamin was wounded and sent to a military hospital and subsequently returned to Australia in a hospital ship. Benjamin re-enlisted as George Coombe and was sent to France to fight on the Western Front. He was wounded again and evacuated to a military hospital in Weymouth UK.
