Son of Benjamin and Helen SHORT, 'Euroka' Croydon Street, Petersham, NSW
Arthur served in France and was wounded at the Battle of Menin Road 21 September 1917 and invalided to Northampton War Hospital in England. After recovering he rejoined his unit and was there at the signing of Armistice.
