Husband of Ethel May Priscilla Symons nee Lobb of 33 Cobden Street, Melbourne North, Victoria but later separated. His two children were in the care of a guardian, Mrs Nickson of Richmond, Victoria

Commenced return to Australia on 10 June 1916 aboard HT Itonus disembarking on the 12 July 1919
