Brother of John Frederick Oehlman who returned to Australia on 3 October 1919 having served with the 35th Battalion; William Cameron Oehlman who returned to Australia on 1 January 1920 having served with the 35th and 41st Battalions; Arnold Bert Theodore Oehlman who returned to Australia on 25 April 1919 having served with the 4th Light Horse Field Ambulance

Commenced return to Australia on 15 January 1919 aboard HT City of Exeter disembarking 2 March 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane by transport
