Only son of William Wellington Glover and Alice Glover, of High St., Oatlands, Tasmania.
Much sympathy is felt (says our Oatlands correspondent) for Mr. and Mrs. W. Glover on the death of their only son, Private Alfred Glover, killed in action on August 9. The news was wired from headquarters on Wednesday, and vas conveyed by Mr. M. Wilson, in the absence of the rector, to the bereaved mother, who was in daily expectation of receiving it, as many of her letters had never reached her son, nor had she heard anything of him for some considerable time.
Commemorated in Oatlands Uniting Cemetery, Tasmania. Inscription on headstone reads:
'... WHO GAVE HIS LIFE FOR THE EMPIRE'.
