William embarked with the 14th battalion on the HMAT A71 Nestor on the 2nd October 1916. He was taken prisoner of war at Riencourt ( Bullecourt) on 11 April 1917. He lost 2 brothers in the Great War. Leslie Toulmin Heath ( buried Hem Farm Cemetery in September 1918) He returned to Australia on 10 May 1965. Notes courtesy Peter Younes and James Affleck
