Names given on the National Archive site are Sydney George Fogg however the enlcosed file acknowledges his correct name as Sydney James Fogg

His actual age when he enlisted was only 16 years. Son of William Fogg and Margaret Fogg nee Draper of Samson Creek, QLD

Brother of Gilbert Harold Fogg who was killed in action 22 January 1917 and was buried in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery. Plot 111, Row D, Grave 20 and Beatrice Margaret Fogg

On 23 December 1924 Sydney married Helen Stirling in QLD

Commenced return to Australia on 13 March 1919 aboard HT Ulimaroa

Sydney's parents were William James Fogg and Margaret Emily Draper. The Foggs of Samsonvale and Draper's of Bunya were pioneering families. Sydney's Grandfather William Fogg was a well-known pioneer of the district
he was a member of the first Pine Divisional Board and also a director of the local butter factory at Samsonvale. The locality Draper was chosen to honour the pioneering Draper Family. Sydney was living at Samson Creek when he enlisted 22 January 1916 at Brisbane. His older brother Gilbert [1036] enlisted as well but was killed. Sydney married Helen Stirling in 1924. (Wongum or variations of spelling was the name of the Post Office at a private residence near Wongun/gam Creek, informally known as Bunya PO.)
