Son of Emma Louise Eadie, of 405, Punt Rd., Richmond, Victoria, Australia, and the late John Eadie.

Alan Keith EADIE wa born during 1893 and was working as a carpenter when he enlisted on 20/9/1914.

He was allotted to the 7th Battalion and left Australia with them on 22/10/1914 aboard the HMAT Themistocles.

The 7th Battalion landed at Gallipoli in the early morning of 25/4/1915 and fought through the first days of the campaign. Now a Corporal, Alan Eadie landed with his Battalion and survived the first few weeks of battle.

On May 5 the Battalion was shipped to Cape Helles and took part in the attack on Krithia an May 7.

During this attack Alan was killed and his body was not recovered. 

He is remembered on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
