Waldo Albert James body was found in 1928 during the course of exhumation work near Pozieres and reinterred in a military cemetery. His younger brother 3498 Pte. Gomer Lewis James 16th Battalion AIF died of wounds 3 weeks after his brother on 30 August 1916. The two brothers both worked at the Boulder City Brewery prior to the war.
