Born Birmigham, Warwickshire, England 3/04/1877. Emigrated to Australia. Enlisted 21/04/1915 (date of enlistment from Nominal Roll 19/04/1915). Based in Liverpool, NSW 21/04/1915-12/08/1915. Assigned to 8th Field Ambulance 13/08/1915. Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on 10/11/1915. Based in Alexandra, Egypt 10/11/1915-17/06/1916. Disembarked Marseilles 23/06/1916. Unit assigned to Western Front (Battle of Fromelles 19/071916-20/07/1916). Continued in service to January-February 1917. Sent to England for medical treatment. Returned to Australia 21/07/1917. Discharged 12/12/1917. Spent subsequent years in Blue Mounains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital.
