OBITUARY
MR. J. J. M. EVANS.
The death occurred in Lismore early yesterday morning of Mr. John James Mervyn Evans 51, a well known resident of 47 Kyogle Street, South Lismore. Mr. Evans was born at  Milton on the South Coast and, as a boy came to the Richmond River. He had since lived in Lismore and district. He enlisted in 1914 as a signal man in the A.I.F. and for about four years he was a prisoner in Germany.
He worked for Penneys as a store man for about six years. For the past three years he had been in ill health.
He is survived by his widow, three sons, Frank and Leslie (Gympie), and Harold Evans (Queensland), three daughters, Mrs. F. J. Blanckensee (Mapleton, Queensland), Mrs. M. A. Farley (Nerang), and Miss Irene Evans (Lismore). The funeral wiil move from St. Andrew's Church of England. Lismore, tomorrow, following a service commencing at 9.30 a.m., for cremation in the Mt. Thompson Crematorium, Brisbane.
