The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 95, 278 & 285. Prior to the war he was a bricklayer of Sydney NSW. He enlisted 31st Aug 1915 aged 21 years. He served with the 34th Infantry Battalion, remaining a Private, survived the war, departing the UK for home 12th Dec 1918. During his service, Sydney maintained a diary which was donated to the Mitchell Library of NSW, reference ML MSS 985.
