Son of Herman Julius Paulig and Margaret Paulig nee Lawrie of Alfred Hall, Ballarat, Victoria. Brother of Stein Waldemar Paulig and Henry Julius Paulig who died of wounds on 14 May 1915 and was buried at sea. Name appear on the Lone Pine Memorial, Panel 30
