He was 21 and the son of Henry Arthur and Frances Ellen Adams, of Yallingup, Western Australia.

Died on this date - 27th September.......Private Herbert Gerald Adams was born at Quindalup near Busselton, Western Australia in 1896.
He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 4th February, 1916 as a 20 year old Farmer from Yallingup, W.A.
Private Adams was hospitalised with Influenza on the Ship from Fremantle to Suez in April, 1916 then sent to hospital at Suez. He was transferred to Hospital at Tel el Kebir on 15th June, 1916 with Gastritis then sent to England in July.
On 16th August, 1916 Private Adams was sent to No 1 Command Depot at Perham Downs, Wiltshire, England. He was sent to hospital at Tidworth in November & finally proceeded overseas to France at the end of April, 1917. Private Adams joined 11th Battalion on 1st May, 1917.
Private Herbert Gerald Adams was wounded in action on 20th September, 1917 & invalided to England.
He was admitted to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Norwich, England with gunshot wounds to chest.
Private Herbert Gerald Adams died at 9.20 pm on 27th September 1917 from wounds received in action in France – gunshot wounds to right side & acute Endocarditis.
He was buried in Earlham Road Cemetery, Norwich, Norfolk, England where 23 other Australian WW1 Soldiers are buried.
