Biography

"...3485 Private William John Cations, 22nd Battalion, of Teesdale, Vic. Pte Cations enlisted on 31 July 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Afric on 5 January 1916. On 15 July 1916 he was killed in action at Pozieres in France while serving with the 58th Battalion." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)

 

"CATIONS.- Killed in action on the 15th July, 1916, Private W. J. Cations, dearly loved second oldest son of Henry A. and K. Cations, Teesdale, also loved brother of A.H., G.A., H.S., P.R., J.A., L.B., H.M.V., and Mrs. E. Sharp; and the late J .A., F.E.; aged 39 years 10 months.
