Son of Sarah Jane and Alexander Wilson of Tullamarine, Victoria. Husband of the late Lyall Wilson. George enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 27 August 1917. He served with the 29th Battalion, Private, Service No. 5124. He returned to Australia on 23 July 1918 and was discharged medically unfit on 21 October 1918.
He is a recent addition to the roll of Great War Dead-he was accepted for commemoration, after research, on 3 March 2017.
