Old Minister Returns

The Rev. O. G. Dent, was rector of St. Mary Magdalene from 1919 to 1927 and is coming back to St. Marys for the 8 a.m. communion services. He has expressed the desire that he would like to renew acquaintance with the old parishioners.

Mr. Dent has been living in retirement at Woodford for a number of years.

Scholar and Sport

Rev. O.G. Dent, who was recently inducted at St. Stephen's Church of England, Lidcombe, is a Sydney native, and was educated at Sydney Grammar School, where, as a boy, he won the Pockley prize for the best all-round scholar. He also shone in the sporting arena winning the senior athletic championship of the school for two years in succession. Following his ordination at Moore College, he went to England and studied at Durham University. During the war he was a chaplain with the 5th Division of the B.E.F.
