Military History
Henry McCOURT joined the AIF in Millicent on 30.03.1916 and was stationed at Torrens Island Quarantine Station for several months. On 7th December he joined B Company, 5th Pioneer Battalion and embarked from Adelaide for Overseas on 10th March on H.M.A.T. “Seang Bee”.
On arrival in Fovant England on 02.05.17 he was transferred to 27th Battalion and from there went to France and Belgium.
On 24.06.18 he returned to England and on 11.10.18 returned to Australia for Medical Discharge (Epilepsy) on H.M.A.T ‘Medic”.
Henry had three brothers that also served in WW1
Thomas Leo McCourt, John McCourt and Richard McCourt.
