Son of John Thomas O'Keeffe and Hanorah O'Keeffe nee Ryan of Stringer Place, South Geelong, Victoria.

Brother of Richard O'Keeffe who returned to Australia on 11 October 1919 having served with the 58th Battalion

Husband of Ada O'Keeffe of Bell Place off Corio Street, Geelong, Victoria. 

Commenced return to Australia on 22 July 1917 aboard HT Nestor disembarking on 24 September 1917
