Son of Daniel and Agnes RYAN
It has been offically reported that Private John Barry Ryan, aged 19 years, has been killed in action. The deceased was the only son of the late Mr. D and Mrs. A Ryan, "St Elmo" Croydon Street, Petersham. Educateda the Christian Brothers', Lewisham, and obtaining a scholarship, he passed to the Sydney Boys' High School, and afterwards to the Training College. Prior to enlisting he was a teacher at the Ashfield Superior Public School.
