Son of John Haw and Mary Ann Elizabeth Haw nee James of Mologa, Victoria. Brother of Amos Henry Haw who returned to Australia on 14 May 1919 having served with the 5th Battalion, Sarah Lily Flowers Haw, Hannah Knowlson Haw, Ethel Jane  Haw, Irene Olive Haw and  Walter William Haw

Commenced return to Australia on 27 May 1919 aboard HT Rio Pardo disembarking on 18 July 1919
