Norman Owen's upbringing
Norman (born 1893) was brought up in Sevenoaks, Kent UK. His father (Richard Owen) was Headmaster of Bayham Road Boys School and his mother was called Laura. Norman had an older Brother Horace who served in the Royal Flying Corp in WW1. He was shot down in 1917 and taken as a PoW but returned home after the war. He also had a sister, also called Laura.
Norman's parents came from Coventry, Warwickshire and they returned there after Richard retired.
