6 Aug 1916: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 107, 24th Infantry Battalion, Wounded - Severe GSW to face. Admitted to 26th General Hospital Etaples, France. Discharged from hospital and rejoined unit on 19th August, 1916
22 Aug 1916: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 107, 24th Infantry Battalion, Battle for Pozières , Killed in action at Pozieres. Red Cross reports indicate he was killed in an artillery barrage whilst moving towards the front line whilst serving in 12 Platoon, C Company 24th Battalion.

Charles was born in Carlton, Victoria circa 1879. In 1906 Charles married Elizabeth BRODEN in Richmond, Victoria. A Daugher and son followed,  unfortunately Charles's wife and daughter died in 1910.

At the time of his enlistment Charles was a widower working for the British-Australian Tabacco Company. Charles had one surving child, being Eric Richard JOSELIN.

JOSELIN - Killed in action in France on 22nd August, Private Charles Richard JOSELIN, dearly beloved brother of James JOSELIN, and uncle of Lily and James Richard JOSELIN, brother-in-law of Bertha JOSELIN, aged 38.

              One of the bravest that left Australia.
