Biography

From his war record:
No. 2754, Private Roy Alexander Kidd, 58th Battalion, Australian Imperial Forces, was wounded (Gun Shot Wound Head and Side) in action, transferred to England and admitted to 2nd Eastern General Hospital on 17th May, 1917; transferred to 3rd Auxilliary Hospital on 27th July, 1917; discharged from hopital on 31st July, 1917; admitted to Tidworth Military Hospital on 25th September 1917, suffering with Nasal Obstruction; discharged from hospital on 5th October, 1917.

He rejoined his unit in France on 23rd November, 1917.


"KIDD - Killed in action in France, April 27, 1918, Roy, youngest son Mr and Mrs. Jas. Kidd, St Georges road, Elsternwick, and loved cousin B., R., L., and A. Bishop, 137 Chapel street, and Robert, John, and Frank Bishop (on active service). His duty done.
