Son of John PARKIN and Bridget PARKIN nee MALONE

Councillor John Parkin, of "Pine Grove," Kingston who has died at Creswick at the age of 74, was the last of a family that lived in Kingston for nearly a century.
He  was educated at Geelong Grammar school, where he figured in rowing and football. He also played football for the Geelong and Ballarat clubs.
He was the original president of Newlyn R.S.L. from 1925 to 1929.
Councillor Parkin is survived by two sisters.

PARKIN.—On Aug. 10, at Creswick, Major John Parkin, of Pine Grove, Kingston (late 4th Light Horse, A.I.F.). second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Parkin and loved brother of  Mrs. Allen Thomas (dec.), Harry (dec.) and Mrs Williamson. Aged 74 years.

PARKIN.—The funeral of the late Major John Parkin, of Pine Grove, Kingston, will leave his residence. TODAY, at 2.30 p.m., for the Creswick Cemetery, A. Pascoe and Sons, Crcswlck.
