Biography contributed by Robert Wight

According to several eyewitness reports (Red Cross file), Pte 3609 Alfred Joseph Sizer, 57th Btn, was killed while working on a carrying party behind the lines at Delville Wood (Flers) when he was hit by a German HE shell.

His brother, Pte 3610 Arthur Albert Sizer, 57th Btn, had been killed in the same region only days earlier on 28 November 1916.
