Recommendation date: 3 March 1917 Citation reads:- This man was first bayonet man of a bombing party that entered Malt Trench and cleared it for a distance of 150 yards. His work throughout the whole action was excellent. He was also a member of a special bombing party that attacked the block established in Malt Trench by the Huns.
