Son of George Stephen Vidler and Eliza Jane Vidler nee Harris of Corndale, NSW.

Brother of Cecil Vidler who returned to Australia on 12 December 1919 having served with the 25th Battalion.

On 2 February 1918 Clement married Beatrice Gertrude Taylor in Wesley Church, Plymouth, England. Thomas Henry Caddy officiated
