Biography

Gilbert Waynflete ADAMS was born on 28th April, 1885 in Hobart, Tasmania

His parents were Robert Patten ADAMS and Kate HUSTON

Gilbert enlisted in 1915 with the 13th Battalion - unit embarked from Sydney on HMAT Port Lincoln on 13th October, 1915

He had previous service with the Australian Garrison Artillery & the Australian Intelligence Corp.

He returned to Australia on 12th September, 1917

Gilbert had married Blanche ARTHUR in 1912 in Sydney before he enlisted - Blanche died in 1923 and he remarried in 1925 to Isabella CARLILE

He died on 10th November, 1967 - late of Mosman and is buried in Macquarie Park Cemetery in North Ryde - Church of England section, Row F14, Plot 0045
