Biography contributed by Evan Evans

From AWM: Lieutenant (Lt) Frank Edwin Priddey MM, 12th Battalion. A native of Brighton, England, Lt Priddey was a clerk from Kalgoorlie, WA prior to enlistment and embarked with the 7th Reinforcements from Fremantle on HMAT Chilka on 18 June 1916. Later promoted to Corporal, he was awarded the Military Medal "for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operation on 24/25 July at Pozieres. On night of 24/25 July he volunteered to go out under very heavy shell fire to bring in wounded men when our working party had been driven in and succeeded in bring in a seriously wounded man. He then went out a second time to find a stretcher party that had left our lines and finding them was instrumental in bringing wounded back to our lines during the bombardment." Following further promotion, he attained the rank of Lieutenant and was wounded in action. He was also Mentioned in Despatches and recommended for the Military Cross although this was never awarded. He returned to Australia on 3 September 1919 and served in Second World War as a Private in the 2nd Battalion Volunteer Defence Force.

During WWI he was twice wounded in action 27/8/1918 (GSW face) and 27/2/1917 (Le Poquit, GWW chest and shoulder).
