Son of Cornelius O'Callaghan and Ellen O'Callaghan, of Doctor's Hill, Kingwilliamstown, County Cork, Ireland.
Arrived in Australia aged 22 years.
Brother of Thomas O'Callaghan who was killed in action on 4 August 1916 and is buried in the Kantara War Memorial Cemtery, Row B, Grave 41
