Reginald Brushfield SHEPLEY was born in Norwood, South Australia on 12th August, 1896

His parents were Frank SHEPLEY and Annie COLEMAN

He enlisted in Keswick, SA on 16th March, 1915 and embarked with the 10th Infantry Battalion, 5th reinforcements from Adelaide on the HMAT Hororata on 20th April, 1915

Reginald was Killed in Action in France on 20th August, 1916 and is buried in Courcelette British Cemetery - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial

Medals:  1914-15 Star, British War medal & Victory Medal

His brother, Clarence Brushfield SHEPLEY (SN 62348) died of illness (pneumonia) on 26th July, 1919 at the 14th Stationary Hospital in France

His cousin , Thomas Allan SHEPLEY (SN 1089) 16th Infantry Battalion was also killed in action at Gallipoli on 2nd May, 1915
