William Colbart DUDDLE was born in Goulburn, NSW in 1892

His parents were Thomas DUDDLE & Elizabeth COLBART who married in Carcoar, NSW in 1877

He was wounded in Polygon Wood, Ypres  and was taken to the No. 1 Australian Auxiliary Hospital in Harefield UK where he died from his wounds on 28th December, 1917

Two of his brothers also served in the Army during WW1

1. Aubrey Augustus (Gus) DUDDLE (SN 4283) returned to Australia in 1917

2. George Macefield DUDDLE (SN 3384) returned to Australia in 1919

George also served during WW2 (SN N377353) & was discharged on 25th July, 1944  - Private with 13th Infantry Battalion Volunteer Defence Corp.
