The death occurred in the Mudgee Hospital on Saturday of Mr. Frederick Charles Goodman, aged 62 years. Deceased, who had been ill for a considerable period, was a soldier of the first world war, and was very widely known. For a good many years he held positions of trust with the Mudgee Council, and served as gardener in Robertson Park towards the latter end of his service. He prominently identified himself with the work of the R.S.L., and was held in the very highest regard by fellow members, to whom his passing came as a painful shock. He is survived by a widow and the following sons and daughters. Mrs. G. Riley (Mudgee), Mrs. F. Marskell (Mudgee), Harry (Newcastle), and Albert (Mudgee). To the sorrowing ones the sympathy of the whole community will be extended. After a service in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church the funeral took place to the general cemetery this afternoon, the Rev. A. W. Fraser officiating at both services. Members of the R.S.L. were also in attendance to pay their last sad tribute of respect to a departed comrade. The arrangements were carried out by Mr. A. P. Connor.
