Son of John Robert Splatt and Alice Catherine Splatt nee Amies of 75 Grant Street, Ballarat, Victoria. Brother of John Robert Splatt MID who returned to Australia on 25 August 1917 having served with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion
Commenced return to Australia on 5 April 1919 aboard HMT Armagh disembarking on the 18 May 1919
During 1920 Thomas married Gladys Wooding in Victoria
