Son of Thomas and Fanny (nee Clayton) Crossman of Janet Street, Maylands. Following the death of Thomas Fanny was known as Fanny Pitt.
William was the brother of Charles Emery Atwell Crossman and Edith Elizabeth Mabel Crossman
