BIOGRAPHICAL PARTICULARS

LATE CORPORAL G. L. CROSSMAN.

News has just been received that Corporal Gordon L. Crossman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Grossman, of Thirteenth-street, Bowden, has been killed in action in France. He was in his 23rd year, and received, his early education at the Brompton public school. Later he undertook a course of study at the University in connection with accountancy and the diploma of commerce. He was in the midst of this course when he went into camp in July, 1915, leaving with the 32nd Infantry Battalion in November last. After spending several months in Egypt, during which he was promoted to corporal, he went on to France. He was of a very cheery disposition, and had become very popular as a talented elocutionist, being always ready to give his services wherever required. At the time of his enlistment he was in the Controller's office in the   Railway Department, having previously been employed with Messrs. Goode, Dur rant & Co. and Messrs. Wiseman Bros.

For many years he had been a member of the Tynte-street (N.A.) Baptist Young Men's Class.
