Son of Edward Fowke and Elizabeth Fowke of Nyngan, NSW. Brother of Matilda Fowke, Francis Fowke, Robert Fowke who returned to Australia on 24 July 1919 having served with the Camel Corps, Alfred Fowke, Verbinia Fowke, Georgina Fowke and Herbert Fowke
