Son of James Shillinglaw and Elizabeth Shillinglaw nee Holley/Holly of Warrnambool, Victoria. Next of in later given as a brother Samuel Lenbourne Shillinglaw of 39 Oroya Street, Boulder, WA.
Also brother of Arthur Gordon Shilling Law, Elizabeth Maud Shillinglaw, Abigail Mary Shillinglaw, James Richard Holley Shillinglaw who returned to Australia on 21 December 1918 having served with the 8th Battalion. James died in 1935, Joseph Granter Shillinglaw, Margaret Jane Shillinglaw, Lily Victoria Shillinglaw
