Military Medal
'On 12th October 1917, East of YPRES, he displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in action. This man, unflinchingly faced all dangers involved in the capture of four enemy strong-points. He led his Section against these pill-boxes with great Gallantry and determination and was mainly instrumental in overcoming enemy opposition in this Area.'
