Meritorious Service Medal
'During the period 16th/17th September, 1918, to 11th November, 1918, this N.C.O. has been hard working and thorough in his duties and has been of the greatest value to the Quartermaster's Department and to the Battalion generally. During the operations at JEANCOURT on 18th/23rd September, 1918, he was brilliant in his zeal and energy in pushing rations forward under particularly heavy shell fire. Through this time of great stress and continuous advance Corporal WINKWORTH never flagged and by his loyal efforts the Battalion was always promptly fed.'
