Son of Donald Urquhart and Margaret Urquhart nee Ferguson of Black Hills, Kininmouth via St Fergus, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

18 June 1915 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 24th Battalion and with the rank of Private

5 May 1916 - transferred to the Trench Mortar Battery with the rank of Gunner

29 October 1917 - transferred to the 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column with the rank of Driver

22 March 1918 - wounded in action. Gassed. Embarked HS Princess Elizabeth on 2 April 1918  for England

6 July 1918 - transferred to the 3rd Division Medium Trench Mortar Battery with the rank of Gunner.

13 April 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Castalia disembarking on 30th May 1919

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

22 July 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District

During 1923c George married Irene May Price in Victoria.
