30 August 1915 - enlisted at Holsworthy, NSW, with the 5th Field Artillery Brigade with the rank of Gunner
30 September 1917 - promoted to Bombardier
Commenced return to Australia on 24 April 1919 aboard HT Runic disembarking on 11 June 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
17 August 1919 - discharged at the 2nd Military District as medically unfit
